Safe and Healthy Working Environment

Right to Refuse Service

No employee is obligated to serve customers who exhibit threatening, abusive, aggressive, or violent behavior. This includes interactions via correspondence, phone calls, or in-person meetings. Employees have the right to refuse service to anyone they deem to be acting inappropriately. Unless the employee explicitly requests otherwise, such customers will not be assisted by any other member of the organization.

Definition of Threatening Behavior

Threatening behavior encompasses, but is not limited to:

  • Threats of Violence: Any threats directed towards co-workers or others.
  • Discriminatory Behavior: Actions or language that are sexist, racist, or homophobic.
  • Abusive Language: Use of threatening language, swearing, or aggressive body language.

Zero Tolerance for Abuse

Intimidation, contempt, abuse, hostility, and violence against our employees are strictly prohibited. We take staff complaints very seriously and retain the absolute right to:

  • Suspend customer accounts without prior notice.
  • Pursue legal action and involve law enforcement as necessary.
